The Open Water Diver course is the first level of scuba diving certification offered by PADI. It is designed to teach you the fundamental skills and knowledge required to explore the underwater world safely and confidently. During the course, you will learn how to assemble and use scuba gear, manage your buoyancy, approach marine life respectfully, and handle common problems. The course consists of three main components:

To enroll in the Open Water Diver course, you should be able to swim and be medically fit for diving. The minimum age requirement is 10 years or older. The maximum depth allowed during the course is 18 meters or 60 feet (ca. 18 m).

Upon completion of the Open Water Diver course, you will receive a scuba certification that is recognized worldwide. This certification allows you to dive independently at home or abroad and explore the wonders of the underwater world.
