You’re already dreaming about it. Crystal-clear Caribbean water. Colorful reef fish. Sea turtles gliding past. Now you just want to know what it’s actually going to cost you to get certified for open water diving in Belize.

Here’s the short answer: getting your PADI Open Water certification with us in Belize runs $413 for the in-water portion, plus approximately $200 paid directly to PADI for the eLearning. That’s roughly $613 total to walk away fully certified for life.

Now let’s break down exactly what you get for that.

What’s Included in the $413

That fee covers everything you need on our end. No surprise add-ons. No gear rental charges. Here’s what comes with it:

PADI Certification for life. Once you pass, you’re certified everywhere in the world. Forever.

All equipment rental. Wetsuit, BCD, regulator, tank, mask, fins. We provide it all.

4 open water boat dives. These are the real deal. You’ll dive the second-largest barrier reef in the world, right here off the coast of Ambergris Caye.

Free gear rental for life. This one surprises a lot of people. Every time you come back to dive with us, gear rental is on us. That’s a perk that pays for itself fast if you return.

One confined water session. This is your skills practice in calm, shallow water before heading out to the reef.

The PADI eLearning Fee (~$200)

When you get certified for open water diving in Belize the eLearning portion goes directly to PADI. You pay them, not us. It typically runs around $200, though the exact price can fluctuate slightly.

This part of the course takes about 6 to 7 hours to complete. You do it on your own device, at home, before your trip. Or even on the plane. It covers the knowledge you need before we put you in the water.

Completing this before you arrive makes a big difference. You show up ready to dive, not ready to sit in a classroom.

How Long Does The Course Take?

Once your eLearning is done, the in-water portion takes a minimum of 1.5 days. That includes your confined water skills session and your 4 open water dives.

That’s one of the best parts about getting certified here in Belize. You’re not spending days stuck in a pool. You get certified for open water diving in Belize, finish your skills quickly, and then you’re in the ocean.

Why Get Certified in Belize Specifically?

Plenty of places in the world offer open water certifications. But very few of them put you in the water with conditions like ours.

The Belize Barrier Reef sits just a 5-minute boat ride from our shop. You’ll learn with real reef fish, real coral, and real conditions. No murky quarries. No crowded pools.

And once you’re certified, the next step is obvious. You can book a trip to the Blue Hole and dive one of the most iconic underwater formations on the planet. That trip becomes available to you the moment you hold your certification card.

What Makes Our Instruction Different?

We keep class sizes small. That’s not a marketing line. It’s how we actually run things.

We’ve held the PADI 5-Star Resort Facility rating consistently since 2015. We’re also a TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence Hall of Fame member, with 8 consecutive years of top ratings. You can read what past students say about their certification experience.

We take safety seriously. But we also make it fun. Getting certified should feel like the beginning of something amazing, not a chore.
