The Shark Package – Belize’s Best Multi-Day Dive Deal
The Shark Package gives serious divers exactly what they came to Belize for: maximum time in the water, zero wasted days. Four days of 2-tank local diving, a night dive on the barrier reef, and the iconic Hol Chan and Shark Ray Alley dive combo, all gear included, all bundled into one discounted package.
This is the right package if you are staying 4-6 days in San Pedro and want a full slate of guided diving without planning every day from scratch. Book it once, show up ready to dive.
What the Shark Package Includes
- 4 days of 2-tank local diving along the Belize Barrier Reef
- 1 night dive
- 1 Hol Chan and Shark Ray Alley dive combo day
- All gear included throughout
The Shark Package can be completed in 4, 5, or 6 days, giving you flexibility to spread the dives across your trip or stack them back to back.
Note: The Hol Chan government park fee is not included in the package price and must be paid separately. This package cannot be combined with other offers or discounts.
Add On: Turneffe or Blue Hole
Want to extend your trip further? Substitute one of your 2-tank local dives with the Turneffe and Caye Caulker day excursion for an add-on of $182 USD plus tax, or upgrade to the Blue Hole excursion for an additional $262 USD plus tax, including the park fee.
Both add-ons take your Shark Package from a great week of local diving into one of the most complete dive itineraries available out of San Pedro.
The Local Dives: Belize Barrier Reef
Your 4 days of 2-tank local diving put you directly on the Belize Barrier Reef, the second-largest barrier reef system in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From our dock in San Pedro, the reef is an 8-minute boat ride away with over 100 dive sites to choose from.
Your divemaster selects sites based on conditions, current, and the experience level of the group. Expect walls, coral gardens, swim-throughs, and the dense marine life that makes Belize one of the top 10 dive destinations in the world. Nurse sharks, eagle rays, sea turtles, moray eels, groupers, snappers, and schools of jacks are common encounters on local reef dives. No 2 days on the reef dive the same site twice.
Each 2-tank dive day puts you in the water twice with a surface interval between dives. All equipment is provided so you can travel light and dive heavy.
The Night Dive
The barrier reef after dark operates on a completely different rhythm. The creatures that hide during the day come out to hunt: octopuses moving across the sand, lobsters emerging from crevices, large predatory fish patrolling the reef edge. Coral polyps open to feed, giving the reef a texture and color that daylight divers never see.
Your divemaster leads the night dive with a planned route and full briefing before entry. Dive lights are provided. This is one of the most memorable dives most people ever do, and it is built directly into the Shark Package.
If you want to build on this experience, the PADI Night Diver specialty course is available to add during your trip.
The Hol Chan and Shark Ray Alley Combo
The Hol Chan and Shark Ray Alley dive combo tops the list of single-day dive experiences out of San Pedro, and the Shark Package includes it.
Hol Chan Marine Reserve
Hol Chan means “little channel” in Mayan, and the name tells you exactly what to expect: a natural cut through the barrier reef at about 30 feet deep. Decades of fishing prohibition built something remarkable here. Over 160 species of fish now call this reserve home, and the density shows on every dive. Expect angelfish, parrotfish, blue tangs, snapper, triggerfish, groupers, and green moray eels tucked into every crevice along the wall. Sea turtles and nurse sharks move through the channel regularly. This dive works for every certification level and consistently ranks as one of the most biodiverse dive sites in the entire country.
Shark Ray Alley
A few minutes south of Hol Chan, Shark Ray Alley sits in just 8-12 feet of water where nurse sharks and southern stingrays gather in numbers that stop every first-time visitor cold. Nurse sharks, averaging 4-6 feet in length circle the boat. Southern stingrays with wingspans up to 4 feet glide directly toward you. This site started as a spot where fishermen cleaned their catch, attracting sharks and rays over the years until it became one of the most recognized animal dive experiences in the Caribbean. Your divemaster leads the in-water session. Every certification level can participate here.
