MJ was the most patient instructor calming all my hesitation and fears. I went at the prompting of my husband who wanted to go. MJs method of ensuring you are comfortable before the next step, soft, calming positive and patient voice, reminded me of a yoga instructor. He stuck with me to make sure I was also enjoying the experience. In one afternoon I was able to enjoy my first dive in the reef which was amazing. We saw a sea turtle and so many beautiful colorful fish. Now, this initially reluctant 54 year old grandma is on her way to be Open Water PADI certified! Thank you to everyone at Scuba School and Family Dive Center (San Pedro, Ambergris Caye) for being so kind and welcoming.

What an amazing time at Scuba School & Family Dive Center! From the moment we arrived, MJ, Rose, Seleny, Esrom, and Logan made us feel like family. Their focus on safety was outstanding—they made sure we were completely comfortable before getting in the water, with top-notch equipment and clear instructions.

But safety didn’t mean boring—this was so much fun! The team’s energy, passion and patience made the whole experience exciting and stress-free. Whether you’re a beginner or experienced diver, you’ll feel safe, welcome and ready for adventure!

Came to San Pedro specifically for scuba diving not knowing what to expect. I can say my expectations were exceeded!

Everyone at the dive shop is so welcoming and makes you feel part of the family! The instructors take their time with helping you in any way that they can. They are patient and knowledgeable.

Big shoutout to Esrom for helping me through each step of my certification! He explains things so well and in ways that anyone can understand! He’s got a good sense of humour that keeps you engaged! Highly recommended him when getting your certification!

Overall a 10/10 experience and I would suggest throwing in a night dive if you’re feeling brave!

We have dove in several countries and this is our first trip to Belize; we will certainly dive with Scuba School when we return. The staff and crew are outstanding! We found them to be very conscientious, kind and helpful. We dove with them for 4 days, always finding the same level of safety commitment and hospitality no matter who was leading the dive.
The prices are very fair, including their rental equipment, which we found to be in great condition.
Big shout out to Captain Nairo, oftentimes the boat captain doesn't get enough credit. He did an outstanding job of carefully navigating high waves on two of the days, and we very much appreciated his attention to detail.

SCUBA School in Belize was unforgettable — I felt completely safe with the gears we used from them and well cared for throughout the entire journey, from leaving the dock to coming back. The energy and enthusiasm made every dive exciting, and they helped us create long lasting underwater memories. Belize’s beauty underwater is unmatched, and this team truly enhanced the experience. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Ambergris Caye, whether you’re new to diving or you’ve had experiences!

Amazing experience with SSFDC in San Pedro! The staff was great, funny, and very laid back, but we could also tell they would keep us safe. It was so great we went back a second day in a row! I did a dive with Sam and Josh, which was awesome. We also had Omar on our boat and he led the snorkelers the first day. The second day Omar and Logan were on our boat. Logan was a great snorkel guide, very knowledgeable and experienced, also so funny! I would absolutely come back and dive with Scuba School again. The Hol Chan dive/snorkel combo is perfect for groups or families who are not all divers. Thank you, SSFDC team!!

My 8 yr old did their intro to diving bubble maker course and loved it. Her instructor Aldemaro was great! He taught her all of the skills she needed to pass off to go out to the reef. He was very cute and patient with the kids and they trusted him. She had such a great day!

Belize Island Divers made our certification experience exceptional. Our Captain, Jose, and Instructor, MJ, were clear with instructions, professional, and provided a personalized experience. They made a daunting new activity approachable and fun. I would definitely use them again.
